It helps enormously if you include your device model, your iOS version, the app version (Settings → scroll to the bottom), and what you were doing when the problem happened.
Common questions
My events are not syncing
ShadowGraph works offline by design: everything you log is saved on your device first and uploaded afterwards. If a sync has not gone through, check that you are signed in, that you have a connection, and give it a moment to catch up. Nothing you have logged is lost in the meantime — it is queued on the device and will upload when it can.
HealthKit data is not appearing
ShadowGraph only reads the HealthKit categories you explicitly turn on. Check Settings → HealthKit inside the app, and then iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → ShadowGraph to confirm the permission is granted. iOS does not tell apps which health permissions were denied, so if a category looks enabled in ShadowGraph but no data arrives, the permission is the first thing to check.
My geofence is not triggering
Geofences need the “Always” location permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → ShadowGraph. With “While Using the App”, iOS will not wake ShadowGraph when you arrive somewhere. Very small geofences are also less reliable than larger ones — iOS needs some room to detect the crossing.
My widgets are empty
Widgets read a snapshot the app writes for them, so open ShadowGraph once after installing or after signing in. iOS also decides how often widgets refresh, so a widget can lag a little behind the app.
How do I export my data?
In the app, open Settings › Export My Data. You will get a single JSON file with everything we hold about your account — events, event types, geofences, targets, achievements, streaks and insights — and a share sheet to save or send it wherever you like. If you prefer a spreadsheet, sign in at app.shadowgraph.app and export your events as CSV, filtered by date range or event type.
How do I delete my account?
In the iOS app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This is immediate and permanent: your sign-in identity and every piece of data attached to it are erased from our servers, and we cannot restore them afterwards. You are welcome to sign up again with the same email address, but you will start with an empty account. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
I found a bug, or I want to suggest something
Please email us — we read everything. Tell us what you expected to happen and what happened instead, and include your app version from Settings so we know which build you are on.
